While looking for old rockbands I thought I also could search for Youtube video's from the rockband Camel. To their music I listened the most in my pre-classical music time. I have about all their albums and went to some of their concerts, when they where in the Netherlands.
And wow, did I find a lot already. One Youtube video which I find the most moving, Stationary Traveller, I uploaded here.
But I also found an amazing blog today called Great anonymous albums, with a blogpost about Camel and their most famous album ‘The Snow Goose'.
Don't you just love the internet and Youtube? Well I do!

This is amazing! I've never heard to this band, but the soaring quality of the song and the impeccable musicianship leaves me speechless. It just goes to show you that there are musical treasures all over the world just waiting to be discovered, and how generous of you to share this with us. Hugs Michael
Hi Annamieke
I am so happy to meet you. I was spellbound and taken out of my current thoughts which is a good thing. Thanks for showcasing this group. I am going to let my pod Dreams of Artists know of them. I love the title of their one album called The Snow goose. Thanks for your lovely entry honoring Deb today too. You are in our spirit of play here. Hugs, Kathy
Michael and Kathy, thank you very much for your comments. I is great when others use certain words to decribe the music I love. Most of the time I understand the overall meaning of those words, but I often do not know the exact meaning.
So I looked up the words soaring and spellbound. And they describe exactly how I feel it!
It is as if the words give me more grip on my reaction to the music.
And Michael, the word impeccable you use for the musicians, seems very accurate. What I read here and there is that it seems that they could perform just as well life as in the studio.
Kathy, yes I also always liked the the title Snow Goose. I never had any idea what the music was about, but I just found the story here.
“One day Rhayader, a lonely person who lives in the marshes, finds a wounded Snow Goose, and takes care of her. A little girl, Fritha, is also concerned about the goose, and she and Rhayader become friends. By the season's end the goose heals, and it is set free. Following this, Rhayader is alone again, as Fritha doesn't come to visit him anymore. Rhayader helps saving people at the battle of Dunkirk, and during the battle the Goose comes back to help. Rhayader is killed in the battle, and the Goose is then named La Princesse Perdue.”
Personally I also like the title Stationary Traveller (which is from the album with the same name) a lot. It gives me the idea of going everywhere, but make it a longer stay at places that are important. And if necessary even a very long stay.
